Been busy... and cupcake crazy!

Magnets, ornaments, etc. I've been trying to get a few things done this morning. Soon, I'll be taking a break to have an early dinner out with Cory and Mom and Dad...
Awww, I was on a roll!!! :)
I'll get back to the studio later!

I've been feeling queasy for most of the day today. YUCK! Tried to sleep it off... didn't work. Ate a bagel, didn't help. Hanging in there but I'm just not feeling myself, pretty sure that it is stress. Maybe Cory and I need a vacation... HA! :)

I've been busy! That's a good thing!

I've been trying to stock the shelves at Cottage of the Seasons, but not fast enough! Poor Melissa and Karen are waiting VERY patiently for me provide some new Christmas inventory. Tonight was the Holiday Open House ( I should have already had a truckload of new goodies in the shop for this...) and we stopped by for a bit to visit...everything looked just beautiful! Trees, tasty treats and talk.... mmmm. Nice. The shop looked so festive and it was a real joy to see everyone! Thank you! And to Joey, thanks so much for my "faces" :)
I've been making paper flowers like a madwoman and have been trying to use them in some of my art. They look very sweet randomly stuck here and there. Sometimes, that's all a piece needs in that special spot! Yet another craze that I can chalk up as an addiction! HA!
I cannot get Christmas out of my head.... this is crazy. I am ready to decorate my house RIGHT NOW! Last Sunday, I took down all of the Halloween and wanted to leave the look of Fall around the porch...well, that didn't last long. I'm getting ready to create a winter wonderland around here! Hopefully, by this weekend it should look very different, fo~sho! I'm even going to try and get all of our trees up inside. Colette??? Where are you??? I NEED you!!! LOL Hugs!
I'll keep you posted!

The most pleasant Halloween weather...EVER!

Honestly, we could not have asked for a better Halloween day!! It was sunny, mild, not a cloud in the sky, 60 something degrees... the makings for a beautiful day! The parade was a lot of fun, the High school did a terrific job marching and the trick~or~treaters this evening were adorable, as always! We had visits from the cutest Elmo ever, a masquerade ball maiden, an escaped insane mad scientist, a butterfly... with her Grandma dressed as a butterfly catcher walking behind her (too bad I never came up with THAT idea when my babies were little) and countless others! These were just a few of my favorites! Everyone had a great, safe time!
This Halloween was a bittersweet one for me. My daughter is old enough now, that she did not want to trick or treat and my son has lived away from home now for a couple of years. This was kinda hard for me... I was actually home to hand out candy with my husband. This was the first year that Beth didn't want to hang out with mom and dad. Fun, of course, but I wasn't walking my own kiddos around the neighborhood. Kinda sad how fast time flies!
We all had a wonderful evening and have the chance to wind down now. Guess what? Now that Halloween is all wrapped up, the holidays are upon us. I want to get into the spirit early this year just because I'm extra busy these days~ pumpkins will be put away tomorrow and slowly, I'll begin to incorporate Christmas throughout our home. I'm excited!!!
Hope everyone had a boo~tiful night!
OH! Real quick, we made the front page of the paper... Cory was interviewed about our "haunted house".... interesting and spooky facts about experiences that we've had here since buying our home. Maybe I'll post the article later!

This stack of greeting cards with old wrapping papers was picked just for me, and aw.... boy, did Kelly do a fantastic job!!!!!!!!!! No, I can't actually eat this new cake of mine...... it's strictly decorative and oh, just so gorgeous, but getta load of that faux icing!!!!!!!!!!! What a gorgeous day today!

I couldn't decide whether or not I needed my sweater today. It was so wonderfully sunny, not a cloud in the sky and quite comfortable outside, but while in the shade, it did get a bit chilly. We spent most of the day outdoors walking around the neighborhood. What a great day~ the Autumn chill is in the air and I love the cozy nights!
I missed our Oktoberfest downtown yesterday and from the few folks I've spoken to, they mostly said that it was pretty nice. I really wanted to go and see my blogging buddy Jane this year, but I had to work on Saturday. Jane makes such sweet things, I'm very sorry that I did not make it. Next year? Or before...... if you come to my place for coffee?!?!?! :) The door is always open, just let me know when you are back in town......
I want to get lost upstairs in the studio, I've got big ideas tonight. BUT, I also love the bright, natural daylight and it's later in the evening by this time. I may be up late....... what have you been working on? Inspire me!

Happy Saturday!

Here are a few things that I picked up last week at the Fall church sale. This wonderful black and white is a 5x7 golden framed pic~ love it, it's a very striking piece! No really exciting pictures yet... I'm still working on those. Wait 'til you see the baby book scored and the linens and such...I did want to show off the paper clips, they are some of the smallest I've seen! Tiny copper and matte black looking, these will be great for my journals. Ok, more later... I've gotta get to cleaning. Oscar arrives today and I've got bunches to do before work.

Hello there!

*WHEW*. Ok, so..... I do realize that a kinda left you hanging on my last post~ which by the way, seems like forever ago! I'm sorry about that. Where do I begin? This may seem quite silly to some, but I have been lucky enough to get my "dream job" back!!!!! Yes, back. A few years ago, I was employed at our local public library. I made an extremely hasty and poor decision and left my job for reasons that were extremely petty. I have regretted that decision ever since. I recently, stumbled across the chance to reapply~ all in thanks to my wonderful friends and co-workers for putting a bug in our new director's ear. :) I interviewed, was hired and started working there again last week. I am absolutely on cloud nine! I was a bit nervous coming back into the atmosphere knowing that I would need a refresher course... well, that took about 10 minutes!! It was like hopping back on a bike again, it all came right back! With the exception of a few computer changes, it worked out beautifully. I am familiar with the services and systems offered at our library, so there was really no training involved. YIPPEE! Again, I could not be happier and I am so very grateful for the opportunity to serve the community again! Thank you to everyone that put in such a good word for me! For those of you that already do know me, yep, I'm still at Lopez....... I'm working six days a week and splitting shifts between jobs. Normally, I would dread the thought of that, but I really am very content doing this. I love the library with a passion~ it is such a rewarding and fulfilling job for me. I love to help people and deal with the public. Crazy? Maybe..... but, I think I'm pretty good at it. I don't mind working my butt off when it comes to doing the things I love.
The kids are doing great! Poor Beth is being very patient with my new schedule, shuffling alot more and running around like crazy people but we're doing good! She has her Homecoming dance this Saturday nite, she's really looking forward to it. We already got her dress and shoes, she's good to go! Spirit week here we come! Brendan is working his tail off and commuting back and forth~ he loves the weekends as much as the next person! They (he and his girlfriend, Katie) are down to one car and both work hard at the whole carpooling thing. They are enjoying the new place though and live in such an artsy~fartsy college town! KU campus is just out the back door! He loves that town!
Oscar (Cory's business partner) is flying in on Saturday, art class on Monday, AND.... more news, the Director and Young Adult librarian have asked me to hold altered art classes at the library bi-monthly for our YA patrons!!!!!!!! These will start on October 14th! I am very excited about all of these new developments~ my life finally seems to be in order! Next, I'll be getting some Christmas projects done a bit early......hopefully! I really have to budget my time better now, I must admit, I have neglected, but checked the blog and FB every nite, just haven't taken the time to get involved the past few days!
*Whew*.......... alot to catch up on, and no pics but I'll get around to those, I promise! Hugs to all and thanks for putting up with me.............. and my absence! :)))))))
TTFN,
Christina :)

My flea trip finds were all pretty tiny.....

You know how I love the cake decor.... my new belt buckle in the post below totally ROCKS!!! I can't wait to sport the junk gypsy look with that buckle and my old ragged blue jeans! (my usual get~up!) The Valentine stickers... I think I had the very same package many moons ago, not a single one is missing, by the way! :) Oh, and check out the "greeting card negatives"?????? below.... (wth???) I'm not quite sure what they were used for, but I definitely know what I'll be using them on! Collage, he we come..... again....Muahahahahaha!!!! TTFN

May God bless America on this Sept.11th. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

princess in progress...

I'm not quite satisfied with my little pink birdhouse yet...... she needs a teeny bit more bling, in my opinion.

This has been a pretty wild week for us, I really think that we are ALL glad to see the weekend!! Beth is playing a half-time show tonight at the football game, Cory went to watch the game and I'm just at home farting around on the computer. I just haven't been feeling myself for the last few days and today, it finally got me down and out. I'm exhausted~ and a bit sick to my stomach. Yuck! :{ I'll feel better in the morning, I'm sure..... I just need to get that good nite's sleep! :)

Saturday approaching.....what to do... what to do..... Who knows, if I wake early enough in the morning, I may even throw together a yard sale! We really need to have one, poor Beth sorted boxes and boxes of her old stuff about a month ago and still has piles around~ she's waiting for me to pick a date and finally get one set-up. I still haven't even sorted through our stuff yet. UGH! It'll all depend on how I feel. Uhhh...... okay, no.... it's safe to say that I will not be doing this tomorrow morning. Maybe next Saturday! Actually, I think that I'll want to be doing a lot more of my artwork instead this weekend because.... after all, my art is my therapy! :)

Welp, here it comes, a bit of R&R.... very much needed, if I do say so myself. Sorry if I seemed to ramble.......T.G.I.F.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So much to do...

I think I'll be going back to what I originally loved doing... drawing homes. Nothing permanent... I'll give these "altered" eyes a rest for now. HA! I find myself constantly dabbling in so many different art mediums and go crazy wanting to create so many different types of art...I've realized that I have way too many unfinished projects going on. Ahhhh, this takes me back.... I really love the old architecture~ especially in our small, historic town! Here are a few examples of my work.... not the best quality photos, but hopefully, you can at least, see the detail. Excuse the "Windows and Doors", my flash bounced off of the glass pretty badly....A special thank you to Liz and Linda for commissioning me to do this~ about 5 years ago! :) I sketched our Abbey, an old house on the corner and the home that we rented 14 years ago is at the very top~ it was never inked, so it's a bit hard to make out, sorry! The gazebo was changed a bit from the original view. I've done a handful of commissions and it's always a joy to see the owner's face upon completion. The Holidays are right around the corner~ what a unique gift. I can sit on location or draw from a snapshot. If I do have photos, I just ask for a clear frontal view and possibly, an up~close of ornate details around the home. I have so much fun doing these, I'll keep you posted on my progress! Thanks for looking!

Pet butterfly...

My totally awesome daughter was lucky enough to have a butterfly land right on her hand.... and guess what? It remained content right there for longest time... she finally had to MAKE it get off of her hand by scooting it onto the school desk on the porch~ after about a half an hour! (She was SO over entertaining me by that time.) I ended up taking 46 pictures of this beauty... yes, 46! I know.... BUT~ I have a good reason, some didn't turn out...and I just couldn't get enough of it... let alone the fact that it had the fastest little wings ever! This is actually the image I wanted to capture. Every time I snapped the picture, she would close her wings. Only a few turned out this pretty with a flattened, clear view! Of course, my daughter got pretty frustrated with me and lost interest after the first 20 pictures... "enough already!!!!!"

Hopefully, you can't see all the dog hair on the porch runner! :)

Happy day!

Very special thanks to Amy at Such a wonderous place this faerytale space!

I never really thought that it would be possible to make such lovely friends online. Most of my friends...I don't know on a personal level. I've never even met them, but for some reason, I feel very close to most. This package came in the mail today... it really, could not have come at a better time. It was a bad day and when this package arrived from my dear, sweet friend, Amy... to say the least, it really cheered me up! Amy is so creative, so wonderful. Whenever she pops by for a visit to this place, she signs her comments to me with the words "Blessings and light". Today, when I really could have used some Blessings and light the most.... there it was! Thank you dear, Amy from the bottom of my heart! My treats are beautiful, the most wonderful and softest colors and look.... even the giftbag was decorated beautifully with real clovers! My necklace, tin, sea glass and your amazing illustration are all treasures to me. I just love my friend, Amy! Thank you so much!

pinkie...

I've gotta get a bunch done today, so I'll make this quick.... but, I'll be back later on. Hope today brings you happiness and enjoy this beautiful Saturday! See you in a while....

Why am I taking pictures of my chandeliers?

I'm not really sure... they just make me very happy. You know how I feel about anything that SpArKlEs!!!!!!!!!! I'm not sure if you can tell from the photos, but I still haven't taken down the icicles and snowflakes that were hung from them last Christmas!! UGH! Didn't I just recently have a conversation with someone about this? The hidden, leftovers from the holidays? About how occasionally, I run across a tiny elf or reindeer or whatever~ that may have been tucked away in that secret spot~~ in the dead of summer!!!!! Pretty funny... I guess if I didn't have so much crap, things would be so much easier to find and put away! :) I must admit, though... the chandelier "danglies" were planned...I don't think that I even had the desire to take them down. Ever. (and still don't~ I like 'em that way) Why, how convienient, the holidays will be approaching again soon.... One less thing to decorate! I like the silver and whites~ AND It makes me feel a bit cooler looking at them on hot days! Yeah right.............. :) Lame excuse, but at least I don't still have Christmas lights hung outside of the house, right? :)!

hmmm, not the best day ever... good finds, though!

Oh yeah, more vintage cards... baggie for a quarter!! L.o.V.e. my new curly~cue mirror... now, THAT was expensive... ONE dollar! :))))) Man! Last week I bought a small chest (bottom left) for 4 dollars... not knowing the drawer didn't fit, it was still quite a steal, I think~it's actually pretty old, but most importantly, I like it. Welp, this is what it looks like now~after a coat of black spray paint on the top of it, and adding a separate shelf on top, kinda like a hutch or something, I guess. I really don't mind if it's not perfect... nothing is..............even I have a crack! HA! Sorry... I hope that wasn't offensive to anyone. I'm just being silly. Had a bad day....

Say hello... to my hairy little friend!

He keeps me company in my studio..... I hope that everyone is doing well...happy Wednesday! ~ I had a moment that made me just want to scream! Well, actually, a few moment-s! This may sound kinda lame, but you have to understand, I'm totally in love with all in blogland now. Last night when I logged in, my dashboard said that I was not following any blogs! I thought, ok..... it's just temporary, the site must be down or something. I logged out and restarted.... still, no blog updates. This morning, the same... I really thought that I had lost all of my favorite links to you forever! Believe this or not, that made me very sad! I love knowing what all of you are up to, I keep tabs on you guys... all of my favorite blogs. Not being able to reach you with just a click really did upset me. How else was I supposed to know when you had something new to say?! Turns out, it must've been a glitch.... thank goodness, it's up and running again for me! WHEW! That made my day....... petty, I know....................

Hugs! Christina :)

Wedding bells and bluebirds... what a mix!

Well, here is what I've been up to this morning! My~unusual love for wedding decor~ collection has grown and, I still have many wonderful pieces left to create with~~ Woo!!! Can't wait to get that going. This afternoon, I hope to get some projects started, my only problem is, where to begin... so much great new silly stuff to choose from! Have no fear, I'll think of something!

You know, most people don't "get" me and my decorating style... they wonder why I tend to collect such useless and random things. I have a love for collecting and I know exactly what inspires me~as soon as I see it~ and that's why I have such an eclectic home!!! Mix it up, more is more, remember? The biggest and most common remark and question that people ask me when they come into our home is "Wow, so THAT'S what you did with that thing!!!" or "How do you dust all of this stuff???" Ha! The answer... not that often! So, please don't ever zoom in on any of my pics... you'll be sure to catch a glimpse of dustbunnies the size of Connecticut!!!!!!!!! HAhahaha ~~~ jk. :)

Are you ready for this?????????

Well, now that I've made this out to be a totally, won't want to miss, phenomenal post, this may not be that wonderful for some after all...but for me..... whatta jackpot, baby!!!! This morning, I went to a neighbor's yard sale and ran across a tub (yes, I said a TUB~ it's big, like one of those under the bed storage boxes) of bridal cake decorations!!!!! This treasure trove is full of wedding cake toppers, bells, commemorative anniversary numbers, pillars, angels, doves, curly-cue gate~ type thingies, crosses, vintage foil number stickers, etc., and about 10 differently sized bride and groom couples!! Oh, just wait until you see them when I get them unpacked, cleaned up and cute-ified!!! I really can't believe it!!!!! I am SO excited to get these beauties organized and sorted...altered art, here we come! Almost all of the decorations are vintage~there are a couple of newer ones tossed in~ like a hideous, new, gag thing that said "older than dirt", I still have to go through it all. Oh, and you know the sweet ballerina toppers?? I found a huge one inside! That is a real BoNuS!!!! She is sooo sweet... she's already found a spot in my dining room so, sadly, she was left out of the picture... but don't worry, she'll get her spotlight tomorrow! I really can't believe that I have aquired a collection this large- all at once... obviously, someone had a wonderful business at one time. A big thank you and hug to Marianne for allowing me to snag my new toys for only $4.00!!! Big thanks to Kim, also... these were part of her contribution to the sale. I can't remember who it was that was the cakemaker (mother or grandmother) but please know, they have definitley found a good new home. I cherish them so! Can't wait to use them..........in and ON everything~ like my life is just one gi-normous cake!!!! :)

This is a picture of my favorite spot in my studio...

Why do I love this spot???!! The colors, I think and my toys... and my party~guy! This vignette just makes me really happy, so this rack has a special place right next to my art desk. Call me crazy... but it inspires me!

After all, "It's all about me", right? *giggles* Xo

My daughter loves to doodle just as much as I do!

Check this out~ what talent!!! I actually took these pictures a while ago...we have a garage out back...Beth and her friend, Rachel went graffiti cRaZy with sidewalk chalk! LOVE IT!!!! I told her to have at it! She even got ahold of our front porch! Hehehehe... Love you! XoXoX I know that these are older photos, Beth~but hey, they are too great not to post! :)

Thursday, August 6, 2009

Wow! It's been a couple of days... hope all's well!

Silly doodles and dreaming of Paris.... :) I've always had a fascination with antique rod iron... fences, gates, whatever.... if it's old, black, ornate and rusty, I love and simply want to have it! There's just something very striking about the metalwork, in my eyes. Whenever I stumble across a wonderful piece of ornate iron~ which is very often in this historic small town that we live in, I take a photo so that I can scribble those same wonderful lines later on. Although, at times, I've even been caught "camping out" across the street with my sketchbook... *giggles* I enjoy the detail so much! I'm actually working on my next tattoo....ironwork. Go figure.

The quartet of mini frames....Oh, La La!!! These small ~sillies~ along with a few other goodies will be going to the shop~ I read that comment, Melissa... no worries! :) Very simple and sweet~ I just had to get Halloween out of my head real quick. There will be plenty of time to work on the ghoulish. I'm trying really hard to hang on to the last little bit of summer that we have left! Yes, it's still pretty hot, but I cannot be thinking black and orange already! That'll come soon enough... Hugs!

Christina :)

Sunday, August 2, 2009

made quite a bit today~ didn't do anything around the house, though...

Hello to all of my friends... I can't believe this! I have not even given Halloween a second thought, and after the last few weeks of surfing all of the fantastic blogs out there... Now, I've gotten the fever~bitten by that same Halloweenie bug! Seeing all of the great spooky stuff being made recently, I've too, been busy making ghostly goodies...only did three, though. Melissa, Carolee, etc. Ok, I'll stop for now...Back to the sunny and whimsical stuff. Bye for now, I've got to go and eat some Count Chocula!!! HA! Talk about creating a monster... :)

A tale of two... birdies.

In the pink...

Happy Saturday! I'm feeling a bit better today, but still not quite back to my old self. The good news is... it's a gorgeous day today, the weather here couldn't be any nicer! :) I slept in again this morning... I guess that I really needed it or, am I just a lazy~ bone!? Now it's time to get up and about and do something productive. Who knows, after tidying up the house, something pink just might be made this afternoon. :) If so, you'll be sure to see a photo later! Oh, and that's not a thrifting find... (go figure) that's actually MY baby book given to me not too long ago by my parents! Isn't it precious? I love you sooo much Mom and Dad~ and thank you!!! Hugs and happy day to you all!

More Tuesday thrifting escapade photos!

This trip was a tiny treasure adventure, I guess. With the exception of my rack, scroll down the previous post to catch a glimpse of a few more~~I came home with a bunch of smaller goodies. Everything is displayed on top of an empty wedding keepsake album that was never used, for $.50...Oh yeah~~~ can't wait to alter that one!!!! :)))) Old wooden spools of thread, old pink lace and a small length of trim, the praying hands were just too great to pass up and take a looksie at the mini silver cup!!! It only stands about 3" high and it's engraved with the initials S.Y.C. '59 !!!!! I LOVE this sweet cup~~ and can you beleive that I haven't even shined it up yet!!??! My ABC jars... I'm sure the jars by themselves aren't old, but the decals looked that way...so, I couldn't WAIT to fill them! The round knob~ looking thing, probably came off of a child's play stove. Oh, and do you see the little crochet hook? It looks like ivory, very dainty and has cute carving on the end. I really had fun on this trip to the thrift shop but, must admit~ I didn't come home with half of the treats that I normally do... but hey, I only spent $6.00!!!! WooHooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Check out a few more below.... Hugs!!!!

My thrifting escapade... finally posting a few pictures! :)

My $3.00 rack is a favorite... it's actually deep purple in color and has these fantastic cut~out designs on the edges! The brass seashell coaster holder was something that I would not typically buy, but check out the paper coasters that it came with...oh, the colors of those round paper cuties....and, they are embossed with the sweetest pattern.... I'll definitely do something with those!! Maybe I'll spraypaint the holder. Vintage childrens books...I can't ever get enough of those, can you?! Silly patches and bees.... while I was at it, picked those up, too! :) Why? Again, colors are everything to me! :)

I MADE TWO CAKES TODAY!!!!!!!!

No, silly...I'm not a very good baker! :)))))))))) But these might look good enough to eat, eh????!!! Whaddaya think?! XOX

Ahhh, that's a sigh of relief... :)

Hello and Happy Tuesday!!! Okay, so... everything is set for class on Monday. All of the extras and last minute~ needed supplies are ready to go... all I have left to do is paint the boxes. Woot! I'll get that finished later sometime this week. I spent the morning running around town and by the time I got back home, I looked just like a drowned rat! It poured down rain all morning while I was trying to get my last minute errands done before heading back to work tomorrow, and I ended up completely soaked. In and out of the car... No problem, though... it's done and now I can get to all of those neglected chores around the house! (I say that like I'm looking forward to it or something....)

As soon as I can, I will post some new pictures of my thrifting goodies~~ it was quite a hunt today... I was on a mission, though.... yeah...getting my errands done, WAIT....What? Are you thinking, is that how I really got drenched? Okay, *BUSTED* yes... those "errands" did not originally include my thrifting escapade, but hey... I can always make time for that, right?? :)))) And I DID get other things done, too! I promise! :))))

Anyway, Back to the goodies... I ran across some G.O.O.D. stuff!!!!! Can't wait to share... I'll be back in a bit!

Hugs,
Christina

"C" is for create...

Yes, what you are seeing is one of those plastic, tinsel coated light-up Christmas stars... minus the lights... add the bling! I spent some time going through old costume jewelry and such, and ran across that wonderful, silvery star that I could never get rid of. It's just another one of those "I'll use it someday" things that are multiplying by the hundreds in my studio! YIKES!!! I hope to finally, use up some of this "junk" and consider it work in progress. (or should I call it Spring cleaning!)

Oh boy!! The time is sneaking up on me! :)

"My Favorite Things"... can't wait to host this one! Our next class will be on Monday, August 3rd @ 7:00 pm. Cottage of the Seasons, here we come! Don't forget to bring a collection of those one-of-a-kind finds that you just never wanted to part with... ticket stubs, photos, gumball machine goodies, tiny trinkets from the children, love notes, etc. The supply list could go on and on~ the sky's the limit! Just fill a shoebox!!! :) Bring anything that would fit nicely in a cubby, so that we can decorate and preserve it! We'll provide the shadow boxes, which will be pre-painted in various colors, and all of the ephemera you'll need to enhance your creation~~ you'll be in charge of making it personal! It promises to be a fun- filled evening, surrounded by creative women and a sampling of sweet treats! Hope you'll join us... just a few slots are still left, you can sign up at the shop. Hope to see you there!

Happy day!

It's Saturday!! Hope everyone is having a great day!

I love to share an occasional glimpse of some of my vintage stationary... whenever I run across them while out and about, I can't resist taking them home. The floral cards are being made into a journal and I do realize that it's not Eastertime, but of course I couldn't resist showing these off as well. Aren't the colors wonderful? The old bunny and chick illustrations are just too cute! I have a weakness when it comes to the look of old sweet greetings~~

Up close and personal! :)

My studio watch cat, Sassie graces the entry of my wonderland...

Welcome to my home studio/retreat!!! As crazy and mixed up as it may seem... I really do know where everything is and I have a space for each and every treasure in this playroom of mine! AND... I can always make room for more... because don't forget, my motto~~ more IS more!!! HA! :) I've made my case at the end of this post but don't worry- it's short and sweet-hopefully, you won't get a headache browsing~ or fall asleep, for that matter! *giggle* It's a very sunny, happy spot and I can get lost up there for hours on end! Hugs to you all, thank you so much for stopping by... and I cannot wait to see the rest of the creative spaces in this big, beautiful blogland of ours! I have an awful lot of "surfing" do to this weekend...what a turnout!

xx Christina

I'm arriving a bit early for the party...

Hope that you can see through the mess... some of the picture images may be re-runs, as I posted a bit of my home studio a few months ago. I have been working (believe it or not) on organizing and eliminating... yes, I do realize that my previous statement seems totally untrue after viewing these photos, but I really have done some editing up there! :) We are lucky enough to have an extra bedroom and I've completely taken it over~ it is often confused with my daughter's room!! We stripped the heavily layered wallpaper and my paint color choice was definitely on the feminine side, SO, I didn't have to beg or plead that much at all when it came to asking Cory if I could have this room all to myself. :) Trust me, I've really put this sunny space to good use! I'm soooo grateful~ I have my own playground! Okay, I have a few more... hang in there!

Can you believe it? :)))))

Through the looking glass...

Hmmm, that's what I'll call these. It was truly a pleasure making this small token today, and I hope to have a few more done by the end of this week. This is also my prototype... I'd like to have more trinkets and such on the inside and possibly more glitter around the outside. Wait, possibly? I mean... more glitter. Some of my plans for the others? Filled with sand and mini seashells, some with nests and mini eggs, buttons and ?????, you get the idea! This is pretty tiny. It only measures about 1" x 1 1/2". Every so often, I really do enjoy working in miniature~~ although, my eyes aren't what they used to be! :)

Happy Monday!

Good afternoon, all! Just got back home from making a small delivery to Melissa at Cottage of the Seasons... this is one of my newest projects~ finished it yesterday. Whew! I actually got quite a bit done the last couple of days. What a great feeling! Now, I'm waiting for mom... we're going to have a ladies afternoon out and do some running around town. Coffee and goodies~ here we come! Look out! I can't wait...:)

This one was way to much fun! (and quite therapeutic)

Today was yet another productive day... those creative juices are flowing again, thank goodness, because I really missed them while they were away... :) Introducing the re-vamped thrift shop frame... Plain, yucky brown and $.25 !!!! Not too shabby for a quarter!!!! (ok, yes~ NOW it's pretty shabby!) I'm hoping that this will make a dreamy addition to my dining room! I don't think that I'll be parting with this one. :)

Something productive this afternoon!

Hello all and Happy Saturday to you!!!! A cool, sunny day here! We spent the morning strolling downtown~~ we went to check out the festivities while my daughter was still asleep... you know how teenagers can be. :))) I think she slept until about 12:30! She was pretty tired from staying up late last night. A yard sale was spotted along the way ... can't pass that up~ and found this little ceramic duckie!! I just had a funny feeling that I could provide a sweet home for her... what do you think? She graces a creation that says; "Baby, oh baby" ~along with a cutie mini cake that waves a "for you" banner and has tiny bubbles... hopefully, she'll find another sweet someone that would just love to adopt her!! Going to walk down to the fair with everyone! Catch up with you later! xo

Thank you so much, Karen!! :) HUGS!!!

Everyday is "A treasure..."

Why do I love pretties like this?

The addiction is uncontrollable ... anything shiny, glimmer-y, glittery, pearl-y, tinsel-y, silver-y, bling-y... Okay, stop me, I won't go on!!!~~If it sparkles... I'm all over it! (and usually, it's all over me!) I'll soon be unraveling the dark blue strand of pearls ... I actually think that I DO have some crazy BIG plans for them! Aw-Right!!!! It's about time. They are super tiny & pretty old... the spool is soooo cool all by itself, I definitely have to make something out of IT, as well, when it's empty! As far as the other pearlies, that'll come later... they need to age a few more years! *hehehehe*

The (packrat) Queen of everything!

Peek at a part of my paper crown collection... just in case you haven't noticed, there's not a whole lot in this world that I DON'T collect!! Right?~ just take a look around my place!! (my family and friends tend to agree.) I sooo enjoy the sparkle and glimmer of these party crowns... hmmm, go figure ... I'm in love with whimsy!! *giggle*

As of right now, I'm feeling pulled in two crazy, different directions... Create. nap? Nap. create? :)))) I'm experiencing that creative rush and I want to get lost in my studio- covered in paint and glitter, but just can't pick a project to begin working on!! UGH! My head feels like it just wants to eXpLoDe with all of these great ideas that come and go. (Artist's block... I guess) Last week was a great, productive week~ such an uplifting time for me... I got sooo much done and~ believe it or not, I was keeping myself really, really busy! Now, I guess I'm coming down off of that cloud... and feeling kinda L-A-Z-Y. All that I think I want to do now is... take a NAP and clear my head, then, maybe I'll wake up refreshed. I think I've had too much coffee, though, at this point to choose the refreshing nap option. Yikes! :) What to do...what to do...

"I" is for...ice cream!!

DILLY'S...ice cream memories!!

This is Dilly's. My absolute favorite childhood memory of an ice cream shop!!! It has been around ever since I can remember when I was a little girl. Dilly's sits right at the base of the Delaware river bridge, on the Penna. side and each & every time we went back home for a visit, Mom and Dad would make the special stop for us. (probably because of the two wild kids in the back seat jumping up and down screaming) My favorite part? The JIMMIES! (aka sprinkles) We'd get a tall, winding chocolate cone and they'd roll it in~ what seemed to be~ a vat of sprinkles... On a family trip a few years ago, we were lucky enough to have taken my kids back to Dilly's~ not sure that they got why it was such a big deal to me, but oh well... just another ice cream place, right? WRONG!!! It was really sad, though... we just missed it being open for the season, by like a week. Waaaaa! I was heartbroken!!! But then, I spotted someone inside and was actually able to speak to a manager? just to tell him how much I loved the place! (and a bit more blah, blah, blah) He said to me "Hold on just a minute." He went inside and came back out with a T-shirt for me! Guess what it says?! I love Dilly's!!!! So true, so true! God willing, one day we'll return! xoxox

How silly!!!!!!!!!!!!

I definitely do my part in picking up litter when I see it!! :))))))) Yes, this bundle of color is from some popper on the 4th of July! Leave it to me~ to not only spot it in someone's front yard, but then... to stick it in my pocket! I LOVE this kind of stuff!! Oh, and hey... Guess what? The carnival is in town this week... uh, oh! That can only mean one thing~ trouble! Keep your eyes focused on the ground, Christina! *hehe* I'll be on the lookout for some unique "souveniors"! By the way, do you like my little door greeter's new hairdo?

journals...

I must admit, I've been pretty busy today. Here are three examples of my journals that I'll be delivering to Melissa's shop, Cottage of the Seasons. They are made using vintage stationary~ some, with a theme, and all are blank inside, with the exception of a bit of doodling and decorations by yours truly.

Revised "Blue Monday" and another finished this afternoon...

What a success, a BIG thank you to all who attended tonight's class!!!

Some "faireum" photos... we had a such a great turn-out this evening, thank you all so much for being a part of our class! Look, even Zoe decided to join us! :) She's the cutie, little white furr-ball shopdoggie keeping tabs on everyone! Each and every faireum was just as unique and fantastic as the person that created it. Not one looked like another, which really, is my ultimate goal. We want individuality, we actually do hope that no two turn out alike. That's the fun (and whole idea) of it! We had an icy white fairy theme, we had a few brightly- colored princesses, miniature real-life fairies~ Kathy! :) There were some with just tiny insects inside and we even had a "knome home" with two sweet cuddling knomes that are definately in love! :) LOTS of glitter, greenery, and love went into these jars. We hope that the fairies will be content in their new habitats and won't ever, ever try to escape! Don't take that lid off! :) Love and hugs to all who shared their evening with us! It was so nice to meet so many new friends...

Christina

Are you ready, girls???

Getting geared up for a little dose of magic, a little sprinkle of... fairy dust, that is! I'll see you downtown in just a bit! Bring your creative spirit and I'll bring my wand! *wink* Can't wait to get together with all of you~ and looking forward to meeting many new faces! :)

What have I done?

Okay, I ran across this lazy-susan type spice rack thingy at the thrift shop several months ago. It came with only two bottles and it was a dingy brown- colored spinning rack. I guess I really should have taken before and after pictures!! Why did I buy this? I picked it up strictly for the use of the jars. Originally, they were going to be "faireum" jars, but ended up being just too small for me to use in the class. Hmmmm, whatever did I do today??? Here are 3 silly photos of the semi-finished product. For the last few weeks, I've been thinking of a way to re-use this... I'm not really sure what to make of this yet... I stamped a phrase around the top of the "wheel" that says~ "Why, yes!!! i DO Collect Fairies!!! Don't YOU????" Inside of the jars - my collection of itty-bitty fairies (so far). I made one of the jars the keeper of a fairy flamingo, another has a tiny clown fairy with wings and it's sporting a crown (of course). The other~~ a fairy that's trying to escape out of it's hole in the top of the jar! (this jar was an extra one that I found to fit the rack~ minus a lid.) Eeek! I left the lid off!! How ever will I catch her again? I'm hoping to add to my collection as I find more bottles of similar sizes. Oh, and did I mention that my spice rack was a steal for $.50?? Be back soon! :)

Monday, June 29, 2009

It's almost that time! :)

Questions about the upcoming "faireum" class? It's pretty simple... Melissa and Karen's blog has all the answers! Check out the site at www.cottageoftheseasons.blogspot.com... they have such a beautiful shop, are so much fun to be around and have lots and lots of perfect decor for your home and garden. Classes are held at the same time, same place each month and there is a $20.00 fee that includes everything you'll need to create your own treasure. Bringing something (or a few different things) small and sentimental of your own to incorporate in your piece is always encouraged~ make it personal! :) We like that! No matter what we might do in class, your projects can be further embellished and personalized at home. These things take time... you know. More is more? There's no right or wrong when it comes to the artwork that you love? Do what you will, we just get you started with the basics. Have a ball!

Glitter party!

Oh, the glitter! My vintage silver glass tinsel is from my parents... a gift that really screams my name! How did they know that I would love this soooo much? hehe A mini -collage of "my favorite things" (this is our next class on the First Monday in August, by the way!) is of course, glittered! I use glitter on just about everything that I create and found objects around the house are so much more appealing to me if I add a bit of sparkle here and there! :)

Thursday, June 18, 2009

My bride and grooms, I've gotten into collecting these... and have picked them up for next to nothing. The glass jar is my idea of a photo frame. Inside of it isa picture Cory's handsome grandfather.

Next, I have the cutest little figurine! Even though this was broken in three places and missing flower petals, I couldn't resist her for five cents. She needed a good home. I embellished the broken areas with roses that I made a few years ago, added pearls, glitter, etc. and a seashell! Hopefully, you can't tell that she was an imperfect castoff! :) Good as new! (in my eyes, even better)...

More "junk" around the house!

My china cabinet... filled with treasured finds from all over, the vintage lace vest hanging on the door, $.50- I've had this for years, my milkglass bowl/cakestand was $1.50 and the beaded iris flower resting at it's base was $.10! My antique chalkboard was $1.00 then I added the word "love" hung from vintage Christmas candle holder clip-ons! I made the paper party hat in front of the chalkboard and also, the framed flowers... I found this cute little frame and just glued artifical roses inside. I couldn't resist including my waterglobe collection! I really don't think I've paid more than one dollar for any of these! I can usually pick them up for a dime a dozen! :) Shall I post some more?

...And my $.50 (for all) set of plastic retro dishes!

This one... ahhh! I found this enormous painting for $4.00 at our local thrift shop. It hangs above our fireplace and the colors are just gorgeous, what a talented soul must have created this!

Peek at my "junk"...

Okay, here we go... $.50 pastel blue birdcage (one of my favorite finds in the world- now filled with moss and birdies!), $1.00 child's pink striped lawn chair (I've tried to fit, NO way!), angel on the mantle $.50- the angel is actually paper mache! Ready for some more? :)

Searching for all that glitters!

I'm not exactly sure what creation(s) I'll post for the big "glitter party". I could just show off some random picture of myself, I guess, because my kids are always saying, "Mom, you've got glitter on your forehead." or "Mom, why is your eyebrow sparkling?" I'll admit, I get pretty messy up in my art room, but I really don't mind that kind of creative mess at all. Most of the time, I'm covered in paint, glitter and glue... there's nothing unusual about that. SO, finding just the right picture of something is going to be a challenge! A fantastic challenge that I can't wait to tackle. I've actually been doing something a bit different lately. Ok, I know this may come as a shock, because it is quite dangerous, but I've been making my own glitter. How, you may ask? With a collection of broken vintage Christmas ornaments and a hammer. That's all I'll say. Oh, and 2 words... protective eyewear. YIKES!!! Anyway, The little prince picture that I posted a few days ago actually has some of that homemade glitter below his feet! Now that you know, you can really tell by the "chunks"- can't you? Hmmm, what will I use this glitter on next? Until next time, Hugs!

News flash...

Just wanted to introduce everyone to my hubby's new venture that he's been working on developing for the past six months, he's been in the job placement business for 15 years. Cory has teamed up with a couple of professionals within his industry to establish a company hoping to help people get back to work. Finally, it's up and running- so once again, please keep them in mind if you or anybody else is looking for a career change! I've been told, that if this goes well, I can quit my real job and concentrate on my ART and blogging 100% off the time... hehehe!!! :) (and to my fellow co-workers, don't worry :)) Send anyone that you know who is currently looking for a job or just wanting to change jobs go to www.levelhire.com. Thank you!

Oh my gosh!! These wonderful ladies are creating a monster! I have stumbled across yet another event! Only my middle name... GLITTER!!! Boy, I sure have aquired quite a "to-do" list... I guess I'd better get to work! *she giggles*

Okay, I've been busy this evening.

Taking lotsa pictures, that is! So many that I'm waiting for my battery to recharge! Yes, I think I'm wearing that poor camera out now! I may be able to upload a few tonite for sharing, if it doesn't get too late on me, though I am gearing up for this junk party on the 18th. This will be my first time participating in an online event, so please bear with me and my excitement. Tomorrow I'll be ready to take even more snapshots of my favorite things- pure daylight and a fresh charge will surely inspire me! Aw-right!!!! Get ready...

Junk party... here I come!

Can't wait to show off all of my crazy, eclectic junk... well, there's really no way that I could possibly show you ALL of it, but how's about a little bit! :) I've got to start taking photos of random collections around the house... Oh boy! This should be pretty exciting!

Just a peek at one of those special requests...

Made especially for: The Duggar family!! (some of my biggest fans~and I truly thank you for that!) One of three, well, then again it could be one of four... you decide. :) I have some great pictures of your lovely family to post but I'm having trouble transferring them from my email to the blog! Eeek! Can't wait for you to see the finished projects- hopefully, you'll be pleased with the outcome. Hope to see you real soon! Hugs!

The little prince!

I've been working on some special-request projects and I just couldn't resist making this one also while I had my supplies handy. Simple and to the point, this "prince" turned out to be so handsome... He needs a good home, so he'll be going to Cottage of the Seasons next week, along with a few others.
Sooo happy to announce that I'll be having a bit more free time on my hands this summer- Hurrah!!! I'm hoping to really get in gear and participate in some local art shows or festivals. Now I just need to do some research and find out what's going on around the area. (if there even are any...) If I do find something and can actually commit to participating, I'll let you know when and where. Here's to hoping that I can locate a summer spectacular!

Monday, June 8, 2009

Oh, such cute vintage greetings!

Hey, take a looksie...here's just a peek at some of the treasures found last week at the local thrift store... $1.oo for the whole lot, which by the way, included about 50 cards along with various sheets of vintage wrapping paper! Aren't they just too much fun? The beautiful illustrations, the pastel colors, the vintage glitter, oh my! What to do with these yummy cuties... what to do! They are additions to an already large and growing collection but don't worry, I'll put them to fantastic use- I promise. :)

Happy Birthday, Brendan! xox

Our handsome son turned 20 today!!! Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday they (both, our son and our beautiful daughter) were so very tiny and small. You know, signing a birthday card for them has to be one of the most difficult tasks for me. Really, how can a mother ever express in words how much she loves her children? That's just an impossible task for me. I'm not a very good writer, period. It's always a stuggle- trying to put my thoughts on paper, and is there really such a word to describe the deepest love for a child? If there is, I can't think of one. Anyway, we had a wonderful evening together! Shopping and dinner. It was so nice getting together and just running around, out of town for a little while. What a nice day... we hope that it was wonderful for you as well. Love you! xox

"Faireums"

Monday, July 6th, please join us for our next class... We'll be creating fairy terrariums; or as I like to call them, "faireums". Artificial mosses and greenery will be provided along with a fairy of your choice and a set of wings. (The jars in which the terrariums will be made will also be provided) Come and create a mystical display, chat with fellow artists, and enjoy small refreshments. Can't wait to see you there!
**Note: feel free to bring your own additions to make your habitat even more special!!!

We're having a great time!

Special thanks again to Melissa and Karen at Cottage of the Seasons!!! They've given me the opportunity to show others exactly what inspires me! Yes, I've been recruited. :) Altered Art classes... now forming. "Teaching" great friends, new and old. On the first Monday of each month, we'll be learning to create something new, then we'll host a "rewind" class that allows everyone to finish up or add to the previous project- using our supplies! Our very first class was a success- experiencing the art of creative journaling and tonite, May 4th, we'll be re-vamping altoid tins. FUN! FUN! FUN! It's all about recycling and repurposing these days and what a great way to incorporate it all into artwork! The evening is spent together in a relaxed and beautiful atmosphere and we have a crazy, creative workshop. Those interested make a wonderful group and we're doing some pretty cool stuff. You really should check it out! :) I've copied some info from Melissa's blog- please check out her site and shop, what a great place to visit! See you soon!

Spring is here, OH MY!!! Happy April 1st!!!

April Fool's!!!!! I tried to pull a couple of pranks today, and failed miserably. I guess that people really can read me like a book. Mostly, my family and co-workers laughed at me... they didn't believe me when I told them that we had overslept, are expecting 14 inches of snow, and had bugs in their hair!!! Why, why, why? Was I that transparent? My boss actually told me that I could leave early for the day- BOY, was I so excited, then everyone around me laughed and said "April fool's". Ha. Ha. Well, I got the last laugh. I clocked out, was able to leave after all, and have an extra hour of playtime this afternoon. Hmmmm, better luck next year on my behalf, eh? :)
I'm browsing through a few of my photos and I really want to post some updated ones soon, I have unfortunately, again, put my blogging on the back-burner and hope to get back on track in the near future. Thanks again! See you soon... Oh, and school's been cancelled for tomorrow... APRIL FOOL'S!!!!!

A BIG THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! :)

SO MANY THANKS TO MELISSA AND KAREN!!!!!!

Participating in the Atchison Holiday Homes Tour was truly breathtaking... thanks to you both for the exquisite Christmas decor!! Our home looked extra special because of you and your efforts! We sure do appreciate you!

Another EXTREMELY special person that I would like to thank- and I couldn't have done this without, is my mother. Putting up with me was definately a chore and I'm sure, that I made mom just as nervous about the whole thing because of my insanity! I love you so very much!!! You were such a blessing to have around... helping out EVERYWHERE, doing a fantastic job volunteering, (noone knows our home quite like you do!), and just holding me up and supporting me during all those hectic moments, I truly thank you! ALL OF MY LOVE TO YOU, NANI!!!! XOXOXOX Thank you again for all of your time and everything you've done to make last weekend a success!!!

Also, to my family!!!!!! My husband and kids... oh, my poor family! They are very happy to be able to "live" in our home again. I was quite the mess to put up with, eating fast food and bologna for a week before the tour, cleaning like a crazy person and not letting them even use the bathroom downstairs!!! :)))) yikes! Paper plates rule! haha! THANK YOU TO MY FAMILY!!!! You all deserve a medal!!! I LOVE YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH!!!!! XOXOXOXOX

Ladies and Gentleman,

Just a bit of my artwork below...

Two of my "pretties"...

I have alot of fun making these "doorknobbers", they always turn out to be a bit on the whimsical side. I don't think that they are too girlie, do you? :))))

Quirky, but these are some of the things that I love... I've got this bowl of goodies in my kitchen- along with the shelf pictured below. Beth & I walked to Nani & Papa's house for a bit and had a very nice visit... it's been a while since I've been out and about, we miss them so much! xoxox Love you both!!! :)

It's good to be back, hope all's well!

YUMMY!!!!!!!!

Well, well, well.... look who's back. I've been able to finally get the camera up and working, so I've got a lotta new fun to post! I'll start with one of my favorite collections. My alphabet letters. Imagine, thoughts spelled out on everything that will make these little cuties cling! :) I'll try to post daily as I've taken some more pictures of my favorite little vignettes around the house and also a few of my pieces of art. Enjoy!

Oh wow...

I really have to jump back onto the bandwagon, I've been out of the online mix for so long. Still no recent pic uploads- let me get busy. Be back soon! :)

Wednesday, June 11, 2008

Yep, I took the pledge...

Hopefully, I can stick to this one... I would love it if everyone could go "green" and handmade. I need to get serious and do my part in conservation and recycling efforts- still need to do some research and just get the ball rolling. This weekend is the Garden and Tea show and I'm really looking forward to it. Ooops, gotta run- be back later! xo

Oh my!

It's been a while... school's almost out and we can't wait!! It's going to be in the 80's this week- yippee!!! Great fishing weather for the guys. Are you ready for the bad news? No Riverbend this year. I know, I know, I've been looking forward to this for months now and just couldn't stop talking about it, but the timing just wasn't right for me this year. I'm actually pretty bummed out about it. This won't stop me from creating, it just slows me down. I'll have plenty of time to gear up for it next year. We'll catch up later!

Sunday, April 27, 2008

Hello everyone! I haven't done any posting in a while, In fact, I haven't done much of anything productive lately. Today, though, I worked all day long on a few new "creations" for the Riverbend. Memorial day weekend is really going to sneak up on me this year! On that note, I can't believe that the kids are almost out of school- what, three weeks or so? My gosh! Time has passed me by so quickly. I need to upload some more recent pictures for all to see. Most of my photos are from last year! (I just hate to admit that!) My camera's screen went out and finding the time to play photographer eludes me. Hmmm. I've joined a fantastic group of artists on creative souls and I really want to get some pics loaded, so I need to get moving, don't I? Until next time... tata for now! xo

cutie...

My two most precious possessions!

Brendan and Bethany! I love you both so much! This pic was taken last summer in Rocky Mtn. Nat'l park. What a setting! You guys are awesome! xoxoxoxox

icandy...

After the Riverbend... get ready, it'll be right around the corner!

Again, Mom & I... whaddaya think? We are pretty silly together and have so much fun!

Oh, wow. Mom & I being way too silly.

Beth took this picture of the two "simps". Bunny ears on Easter!! :) Love you, Mom!

Only 2 days 'til the big 38!!

I'm having a good week. Almost Friday, and really looking forward to it. No special reason- it's only MY BIRTHDAY. I'm one of those cheeseballs that really gets excited each and every year. Hey, my philosophy is: I'm blessed to be able to celebrate another year! I'm still young enough that I don't mind telling my age, but old enough to realize how fast time really does fly by! Oh, but don't worry-I'll let you know how I'm feeling after the big day. (We'll see if I still feel "young" enough.) Changing the subject... we just returned home after being walked by the dogs-ha! and I'm truly exhausted- so are they. It's always a workout. Our 2 german shepards like to pull and run around alot... you know how that goes. They're strictly indoor dogs and they only go outside to take care of business. So, in turn, when on a leash they like to drag me and wrap around every single pole, tree and hydrant while I'm busy trying to distract them from all of the squirrels and strays. Fun, fun, fun! We all got some overdue exercise. It was time to head back home, though. Not only were we all dog tired- (no pun intended, we walked about a mile) but I ran out of Wal-mart bags. Catch my drift? I'll write again soon. Time for some R&R. Bye! :)

FINALLY, HAPPY SPRING!!!!!!!

Yes, the first day of Spring has arrived... and not a moment too soon! Today I actually went to the first yard sale of the season (at least for me) and WOW- it was a good one! Lots and lots of treasures and at such a great price! It seemed as though the entire town was there... tons of traffic! I completely stumbled across this one. :) It was such a beautiful day today and it's so nice to be outdoors again! TaTa for now.

What a nice weekend!

Hello and welcome to the weekend! We are so excited... our daughter, Bethany is playing the character Nyra in a local production of the "Jungle Book". Opening night was a blast and she didn't miss a beat! Today is her second performance - ready, set, GO! What a great time it is! Papa also returns home this weekend... we can't wait to see him and give him big hugs! Don't forget to wear green tomorrow! You wouldn't want to get pinched, now would you? Fresh cinnamon buns are calling, chef Bethany really hooked us up this afternoon!

Take a peek!

Okay, you have to look really, really closely at this photo to see this backyard baby! (To the left of the brush pile, directly below the telephone pole.) Last Spring, just before we made the move to our new home, a tiny bunny would come out of the brush and have the time of his life racing and jumping around like lightning- and being very silly! It truly was one of the most adorable sights! We would all check up on "the baby" early in the mornings and later on, after dinner in the evenings. Inevitably, it would always come out and entertain us. Almost as though it knew that we were watching and waiting just to see if it was still safe from harm... and all the while, putting on quite a show. That bunny was so very sweet to see!
I'm still anxiously awaiting Springtime. Can you tell? :)

Here, birdie, birdie!

So pretty!

Good morning!

Another gorgeous day! I really have to take some new pictures and hopefully, with Spring right around the corner, my daughter will be bringing home fistfuls of flowers! I think that Spring fever is in full swing now... and I'm definitely feeling it! (Even though it's going to get cold again this week, they say... blah!) I can't wait to spend our days outside playing.

Saturday, March 1, 2008

What a beautiful day it is... and what a mood I'm in. I want to make something...I really should scratch the creative itch, but I have so much on my mind and I need to get things done around the house first! I need to keep myself busy for a while. I had my first baby bird leave the nest this week. My son decided that it was time to get a place of his own... he'll be 19, so I guess it was an overdue decision. I miss him so much already. My daughter is 13 and growing up just as fast. Time for teenager-round two! :) I know she'll keep me plenty busy! :) It seems like only yesterday... Time really does go by so quickly. I need to focus on that great feeling of accomplishment and everything will be fine. Ta Ta for now!
